This beautiful Glam Christmas Sideboard is easy to do using symmetry and placing a focal point in the center. The sideboard really sparkles day or night and certainly grabs your attention when you walk into the dining room.
How do you Create a Glam Christmas Sideboard?
- Start creating a Glam Christmas Sideboard by placing a neutral runner on the sideboard to serve as a base for your display
- Symmetry (matching the left and the right sides) make setting up the display easy. Then pick a focal point for the center of your display.
- Collect items for either side of your display. Silver and white are traditionally used in a glam display and pick items with lots of sparkle or glitter. You will need matching items for each side. A large item or several co-coordinating items for the focal point, and crystals to scatter on you base, and as an optional item, mini lights.
- Start on one side and place your items and then stand back and check to see if you like your arrangement. Now copy the arrangement on the other side.
- The display shown will primarily be seen at night so I added mini lights. I used ones from Pier 1 because I wanted to put them on a timer but the lights from Dollar Tree would also work, you will just need to turn them on each day. Put the lights in now if you are using them as it is easier before you fill in the middle.
- Place your focal point in the center of your display
- Place your crystals on your runner base. I used 2 different sizes because I wanted to fill in the space and I really wanted this display to sparkle during the day and really glow at night.
This is the Glam Sideboard at Night
The lights make such a big difference when viewing my glam sideboard at night and they add a lot of sparkle and drama to the display! It was very important to add lights to this display. The dining room will primarily be viewed after dark because it gets dark about 4pm at Christmas in Alberta, Canada where I live.

The simplicity makes it a useful technique all year long.
This process is very versatile, you can use the same steps to decorate a console table, mantle, or to create a tablescape. The technique can be used on any flat surface to make a beautiful display that is quick and easy. Do it anytime of the year, just change up the color scheme and theme of the display and away you go.
